A challenging project results in a beautifully integrated swimming pool, garden and cabana.
A Total Concept was commissioned to design the external areas of this harbour side property to incorporate a large swimming pool and spa into a total entertaining area including gardens and a pool cabana with kitchen, barbecue, shower, toilet and changing facilities.
Gaining approvals for such an extensive and detailed project was extremely complex and John Storch worked closely with local council, waterways authority and waterboard to resolve the many design and construction issues.
Once the approval process was over, construction management posed complex issues with access for excavation works on the site being entirely by the harbour. Large seven tonne machines were craned upwards of 10 metres from barges at water level for excavation. Hundreds of tonnes of spoil were removed from the site during the eight-month construction period.
This pool and landscape development have been designed to provide everything a family could require. Set against the background views of the Sydney skyline through to Gladesville bridge, the swimming pool and attached spa visually cascade to the waters below. The spa, cabana and paved entertaining areas are accessed from the residence down cantilevered stairs, across stepping stones within the pool with an adjacent book leaf slate water.
The white sandstone paving contrasts beautifully with the vibrant blue water and beautiful gardens containing formal plantings of buxus, camellias, port wine magnolias, star jasmine, invite all to get wet and enjoy this complex.
