Many companies present projects designed by A Total Concept on their websites as their own. When you have as much ability and experience as we do, we see it as a high form of flattery when less capable companies use our projects in this manner.
Our wholistic approach that extends to the home itself is the envy of many. Award winning A Total Concept creates beautiful spaces. We have 30+ years of experience & specialise in the design & integration of pools, gardens. cabanas, outdoor rooms & home alterations.
The Home: Originally was extended and opened out to the rear to create an integrated living area of kitchen, family and living areas by TW Architects. To the rear of the home, we designed to have a large timber deck entertaining area with barbecue and kitchenette facilities incorporated under a retractable roof allowing for all weather use linking both the home and outdoor areas.
The Front Space: Was redesigned in a style to compliment the residence. The dilapidated front wall was rebuilt using traditional brick and timber fencing, sandstone walling was installed to create a more level lawn area and enhance the presentation of the home to the street and a new tessellated pathway joined home to footpath.
The front gardens plant selection was chosen to reflect period planting and to complement the colour scheme of the house. This included several Plumeria rubra (Frangipanni), Salvia ‘Indigo Spires’ (salvia), Rosmarinius mauritanicus (rosemary), Viburnum odoratissimum (glossy viburnum), Erigeron karvinskianus (Mexican daisy), Buxus ‘japonica (Jananese box) and Gaura lindheimeri (Pink Butterfly Bush).
The Rear Space: Was designed by A Total Concept to incorporate a family swimming pool and swimming pool cabana. When viewed from the covered entertaining area, the tranquil feel of the outdoor space and the aural privacy provided by the hedging, fencing and rear stone feature wall creates an intimate setting where one feels far removed from the outside world.
Materials, colours and detailing were selected to create an aesthetic that draws to mind a peaceful water feature. This allows it to be enjoyed year-round as a beautiful component of the outdoor space. The pool, feature wall and water feature together create a strong focal point of the design. Alluring black glass tiles were used for the pool’s interior finish and contrast beautifully with the grey paving and random prismatic stone of the feature wall. A timber shower and timber sitting area at one end of the pool visually ties back to the timber deck, posts and fascia of the entertaining area at the rear of the home.
“The cabana was set adjacent to the pool at the rear of the property to visually maximise the lawn and garden,” says John Storch, director of A Total Concept. Inside the cabana a sitting area for lunching and supervising children in the pool is incorporated as well as a large flat screen TV for watching sports on the weekend. The cabana has been designed with a fully appointed bathroom for both cabana and pool users with all colours tying back to the home itself.
The rear gardens feature quick growing minimal maintenance plants including screen planting to boundaries including Ficus ‘Flash’ (hedging fig), Magnolia ‘Little Gem’ (little gem magnolia), Syzygium ‘Cascade’ (Cascading Lillypilly) and Trachelospermum jasminioides (star jasmine).
A Total Concept succeeded in redesigning this property to create a stunning family home in Haberfield.
